Mortified Mortician was founded in early 2012 by Kyle Castronovo (Rhythm/Lead Guitar) and Matt Jefferson (Vocals) when Castronovo, struck by inspiration, demoed roughly a dozen songs in only 2 days.
He and Jefferson met doing various studio work together, during which the two learned they shared much in common, both musically and personally. Mortified Mortician was born. The project instantly gained much interest from Deen Castronovo. Enough so, that he decided to join the band, drumming on studio efforts, and playing live shows whenever his schedule will allow. (Deen currently drums for Journey, and has also drummed for Ozzy Ozzbourne, Social Distortion, and many others).
The sound and feel have been compared to such acts as Marilyn Manson, Murderdolls, Rob Zombie, American Head Charge, and Slipknot. Maintaining a dark shade of humor, they create their music and art freely with minimal filters or "rules" as to how they should do it.
The band was very well received on an international 6 week tour they took part of in Sept/Oct 2013 playing with Wednesday13 (Murderdolls). Gaining many dedicated fans showing love and support on the road right away, including getting Mortified Mortician tattoos, and some traveling hundreds of miles by car, and even by plane, to follow the band on tour tour and catch more than one show.
In July of 2012 Mortified Mortician unveiled their first single online, “Putting The Fun In Funeral“. Soon after the band hit the studio to record their debut full length album titled "The Dearly Disgusted, which was released online July 2014.
The live band lineup for Mortified Mortician, established in mid 2013, consists of Matt Jefferson (Vocals) Kyle Castronovo (Guitar) Ryan Chisesi (Bass) and Dylan Gowan/Alan Ashcraft (Drums).
